Self-Threading Hex Nuts
Palnut Self-Threading Hex Nuts are Lock Nuts that create a strong locking force from the interference caused by the nut and stud. They are the ideal alternative to traditional hex nuts, and applications requiring lower torques or reduced weight. Self-Threading Hex Nuts form their own thread when applied to smooth die cast, mild steel or plastic studs.
When applied, a strong locking force is formed when the Palnut Self-Threading Hex Nuts creates interference between the nut and and stud which prevents disassembly. The hex-shape has the impression nearer to the base of part which can assist when stud height and assembly space is limited.
